Suffolk Lodges & Log Cabins

The county of Suffolk is positioned on the East coast of England and covers the southern half of East Anglia. The town of Ipswich is the administrative capital of the county and other towns include Bury St Edmunds and the ports of Lowestoft and Felixstowe. There is always plenty to do in Suffolk, from pottering about on a narrow boat on the lovely Broads, to visiting adventure parks or exploring the many stately homes or castles within the county. Be sure to take in Sutton Hoo near Woodridge which is a fascinating Anglo Saxon royal burial site. The property is looked after by the National Trust where you can marvel at the treasures which have been unearthed including the ship of an ancient king. The theme park at Pleasurewood Hills near Lowestoft is a great destination for all the family for a day out. Here you will find white knuckle rides such as the rollercoaster, family rides and for the younger children some fun kiddie rides. There are also sea lion and parrot shows included in the attractions. Animal lovers should head for Africa Alive, a wildlife park set in over 100 acres near Kessingland. Here are lions, rhinos, giraffes, meerkats and many other animals as well as a large collection of birds and reptiles. Take a walking safari and get up close to some of the animals, and learn about the conservation of the creatures. For a more leisurely excursion head to Framlingham Castle built in the 12th century and explore the buildings and learn what it was like back in medieval times. Be sure to try the wonderful wall walk whilst here, but beware - it is not for those scared of heights! Those interested in old transport should make a trip to East Anglia Transport Museum near Lowestoft to see a superb collection of old buses, trams and many other vehicles.
