Warwickshire Lodges & Log Cabins

The county of Warwickshire is positioned in the West Midlands of England and its largest town is Nuneaton although the county town is Warwick. Other towns include Rugby, Leamington Spa and Stratford upon Avon. Both George Eliot and William Shakespeare were born in Warwickshire. The county adjoins the major cities of Birmingham with its famous Bull ring shopping centre and Coventry whose cathedral is one of the most beautiful in the country. Warwick Castle celebrates its 1100th birthday in 2014 and is a great place for a fun packed day for all the family. Explore the battlements, turrets, the Great Hall of the castle itself or take in one of the many displays happening in the grounds including archery, medieval jousting competitions and the Trebuchet which is the only working siege weapon in the world. Brave visitors can take the tour of the Castle Dungeon but must be wary of spooky surprises. Those with a sweet tooth should head for Cadbury World at Bourneville where they can learn how chocolate is produced and take a ride in a Beanmobile through the Cadabra area. Of course there will be ample opportunity to pick up souvenirs of the great tasting chocolate that has made Cadbury a world famous name. The National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham has many shows and exhibitions throughout the year ranging from The National Pet Show, The Cycle Show to Miniatura - an exhibition of dolls houses and miniature homes. There are also live shows of everything from pop music to opera performed regularly. No visit to Warwickshire would be complete without a trip to the picturesque Stratford upon Avon, a delightful town made famous by its association with William Shakespeare. The Royal Shakespeare Company performs throughout the year at their theatres and a tour of them is an ideal way to learn how plays are produced.
