Details for Bearhouse Alpacas

Located close to the village of Sidbury in the beautiful county of Devon is the working alpaca farm of Bearhouse Alpacas. Here we have a herd of around seventy alpacas as well as a host of other species including angora goats, horses, geese and ducks.

Our alpacas have won many awards at the various shows around the county. Join an alpaca trek and lead one of these friendly gentle creatures along the bridleways and paths around the farm. The farm is in the Roncombe Valley designated an Area of Outstanding Natural beauty and strolling through the lovely countryside is a great way of unwinding and forgetting the hustle and bustle of city life.

Our inquisitive alpacas enjoy being led on the treks and visitors will have an experience they will remember for a very long time. The treks last between one and two hours and it is recommended that appropriate footwear and clothing are worn. Bring along a picnic and take a break to enjoy it whilst taking in the splendid views of the rolling countryside.

If you visit during the summer months you can see the baby alpacas known as cria which have been born that year. Remember to bring your camera as they are so cute and lovable. You can purchase souvenirs made from the fleece of the alpacas such as socks or bootliners or buy some wool in various colours and make your own items such as hats, gloves or scarves. The farm is just a short drive from Honiton and the seaside towns of Sidmouth, Lyme Regis and Budleigh Salterton, so if you are on holiday in the East Devon area and fancy a day out with a difference that all the family will enjoy then come and visit us.
