Details for Brighton Toy and Model Museum

Located under the Victorian arches supporting Brighton railway station is the amazing Brighton Toy and Model Museum stretching over 4,000 square feet. The museum houses over ten thousand models and toys including antique toys and very valuable model train collections.

Toys within the museum date back over the last hundred years and include soft toys from famous names such as Steiff, Merrythought and Chad Valley and lesser known companies including Schuco, Farnell and Chiltern.

To the rear of the museum is the large detailed ‘00' gauge model railway based partly on the Sussex countryside and the highlight of the museum is the working 1930s ‘0' gauge railway layout with period track side accessories. There are many examples of construction toys and building sets, the most well known being Meccano but plenty of others from smaller companies which are no longer in business. Our collection of die-cast vehicles includes many examples which will be familiar to parents including Spot...
